ABOUT COUNSELLING IN CHESTER
Feeling a bit stuck?
Need to talk to someone who isn't a family member or friend? We can offer you a safe and comfortable space to explore your inner world.
By nurturing a trusting and non-judgemental relationship, we can together, make sense of your thoughts and feelings.
So often we find ourselves repeating the same detrimental behaviour patterns without understanding why. Once we become aware of the cause behind our behaviours we can make informed decisions and create the change we need and want for our life.
Hello! I’m Leana Hughes from HeadScape Counselling and Therapy Service. I’m a fully qualified counsellor with years of experience working therapeutically for the NHS in GP practice and at University setting. I also take on Employee Assistance Programme work.
My experience has given me the scope to work with a breadth of issues and an age range from 18 years and older. I'm a registered member to the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work according to the standards and ethics set by the Association.
I gained a BSc (Hons) Psychology in 2008 and a MA Clinical Counselling in 2014. I attend and really value regular Continuing Development training from a varied range of Psychological approaches.
Using the Person-Centred Approach as my core module, I have a strong interest in working creatively, drawing on Inner child work, Transactional Analysis, Trauma-focussed methods and a dash of CBT for Anxiety. I value psycho educating clients to the best of my ability to gain an understanding of why their body and mind is responding the way it does to stresses and trauma.
Andrew works as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. Person Centred Counselling is at the core of his practice. He is also trained in Re-evaluation Counselling, Psychosynthesis and Transactional Analysis. He holds a MA in Management Learning and a MA in Clinical Counselling. He is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, British Psychological Society and a chartered member of the Institute for Personnel and Development.
He has a strong interest in workplace psychology and has researched organisational culture and behaviour. He is keen to support people who are challenged by or suffer from their experience of the workplace. This includes for example ineffective or abusive working relationships, poor experiences of leadership, confidence and motivational issues. Andrew also works as a Consultant with organisations and leaders to create positive working environments and the kinds of cultures that people want to work in.
Andrew is licensed and experienced in using a wide range of psychometrics and inventories to help people gain deeper awareness of and insight into issues to do with personality, relationships, creativity and innovation, learning and working with others.

The Courts carpark is the closest, however only available from 3pm and dependant on spaces.
Cuppin Street Car park is small, but a more level walk. Pepper Street is also close.
